[Jaymie's Bio]
Jaymie M. Rivera was born in March 24, 1985 in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. She grew up in Corozal, where she attended primary school Fidel López Colón and continued her high school education in Sagrada Familia College in Corozal, from which she obtained high honors. At the age of 16, Jaymie started her modeling career thanks to the motivation and effort of her family, especially her uncle, Axel Rivera, who enrolled her in a modeling course at the Refiné Refinement and Modeling Academy. During this course, Jaymie obtained prizes for the best projection on runway. Once her refinement and modeling course was over and with only 18 years of age, she competed to be Miss Corozal, where she was awarded the prize for the best body figure and successfully won the competition. Then she participated in the prestigious pageant of Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2004 where she acquired more experience and better skills in the modeling field. Together with the Miss Puerto Rico beauty pageant, she started studying chemistry at the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey and decided to focus on her college education. She turned down modeling opportunities and offers such as representing Puerto Rico in a runway competition in North Carolina. However her passion for modeling did not leave and she started participating in more noteworthy competitions. In 2005, she was invited to participate in the presentation of the wardrobe of Cynthia Olavarría, where she met designer Christian Ramirez and agreed to model in the second edition of A Night of Glamour. She also participated in the third and fourth edition of this event, where she modeled clothes designed by various novel designers such as Debbie Rodriguez, Jackie Tejada, and Juni Montijo. Then, she participated in the modeling competition Una para Milano, where she was among the top 5 models in the runway, out of 150 participants. During this competition, she was approached by Dr. Mario Polo, who encouraged her to participate in the Miss Puerto Rico Universe beauty pageant again. However, Jaymie decided to not compete and continue her education. Conversely, when Dalbert Rosado invited her to participate in the Puerto Rico Super Model 2007, she accepted and then also modeled at For Fashion Sake, where novel designers present their dresses. During the competition, she won the Urban Fashion Competition and finished as the first runner up and received the best smile prize. Designer David Antonio saw her in this competition and immediately invited Jaymie to be a model for him in one of the most important runways of the country, the Puerto Rico High Fashion Week 2007. This fashion show has been very important to the top Puerto Rican magazines, which have published Jaymies photos. In September, she was chosen to participate in the Amnezzia Model Quest 2007. During the month of November of the same year, she was chosen to model the new fashion trends in an exclusive event for the Mango store. She was also chosen to model in the Christmas campaign of SEARS, and was selected by designer Elier Aubret to participate in the Black and White Benefit Party parade. Now, model Jaymie M. Rivera is offering modeling classes to girls between 3 to 11 years old in the recently founded Refinement and Modeling Ipnotik Models Academy in Manatí and in AMEDCO High Fashion in Vega Alta and also continuing her studies in chemistry at the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey.
